A New Dimension of Natural Family Planning with the Lady-Comp
In 1985, after witnessing many cases among so women for whom getting pregnant was a challenge, and the use of hormonal contraception produced unwelcome, unhealthy, and in some cases irreversible side-effects, I became acutely aware of the need for a more responsible and progressive approach to natural family planning. As I surveyed numerous women who had been adversely affected, their personal accounts shed light on the enormity of the problem and the limitations women faced by having too few choices at their disposal. Inspired, it became clear to me that I must take action to develop an advanced, natural, safe and reliable alternative that would facilitate body awareness and put fertility back in the hands of women.

As a research professional I was fortunate to have exceptional biomedical science and technical teams at my disposal that enthusiastically supported my vision. We were determined that family planning should become again the business of women, in harmony with their bodies and with nature. It was our good fortune that at the same time in history, scientists had made significant advances in the development of thermal resistor instruments for Space technology. Thus, for the first time, it was scientifically possible to integrate the Basal temperature method with sophisticated software that could calculate and anticipate, with precision, a woman’s fertility cycle – which is the basis for the Lady-Comp technology.

However, it was not only the wish for a safe and secure natural family planning method that informed and compelled our development. In 1985 there was growing public awareness of scientific research on the phenomenon of artificial hormones flooding our environment and impacting the hydrological cycle. When ingested and discharged, artificial hormones eventually reach and contaminate our water supply and disrupt the balance of nature, with devastating consequences for humans and wildlife.

Every woman deserves the best in health care and options for family planning. But it is must that we provide balanced options that are safe and reliable for humans – in love and harmony with our bodies, while simultaneously respectful and harmonious with our precious environment. The Lady-Comp technology was developed to help women confidently achieve this delicate balance.
